When it comes time to buy some AT's for my 2005 Renegade, should I go with 225/75x16 or 235/70x16? What are the pros / cons? I assume that they are the same height. Thanks in advance.

I'd go 235/70. It's very close in height, but a good bit wider.

just go 235/70 - those were a stock size and you'll have no rubbing.

You can fit 245/70, but may have a little rubbing here and there at full lock.

Both are stock tire sizes, so you're all right either way. The 235/70 was standard for the off-road package (at least for 2001).

Some people (myself included) like a slightly narrower tire for a snow tire, but to be honest, the extra 10mm width might be a lot for a Honda, but you won't notice it in a KJ.

This may sound dumb or may have been addressed a million times over the years, what about the 235/75/16's? I have the 225/75's and would like a tad wider tire, but have no intention of lifting the KJ so I know the 240's are out.

What is IIRC? and not knowing enough about it, when you are talking tenths of an inch, does it matter that much? I thought the problem arose from the width of the tire not so much the sidewall.

IIRC = if I remember correctly.

235/75 *may* fit, I am not sure. 245/70 will and you just may have a litle rub on the sway bar. Depends on the characteristics of the tire. My AT2's have a lot of tread and are squared off on the edge, so they do rub at full lock.

I think im going to be going up to 235/70's myself. its as big and aggressive as you can get without rubbing a whole lot with no lift. plus if i get a lift in the next year or so, they wont look so puny.

Disagree - many people have 245/70 with no lift and no rub.

Agree ran 245-70s for over 25,000 miles and no problems only when going in reverse with the wheels cranked all the way to the left and then only minor.

Step up to those instead of the 235-70s heck thats the LITTLE tires mine came stock with

My Libby came with 235/70/16, think they were 29-29.5in. height,no rubbing.
Pretty much a car tire. Think with a lift they would look strange,IMO.
