My wifes 06 sport started acting up today, under steady acceleration it feels like the throttle is cutting in and out. It almost feels like a trans shift, but not quite so severe. Im going to try to get a code tomorrow, but there aren't any dash lights on. Any ideas? thanks maltb

Sounds like a dead spot in the TPS,most of the time a dead spot in a TPS will not set a code.

+1. Most of the time when you get a problem like you are describing, the internal resistor strip in the TPS is worn, or sometimes the 5V supply wire or ground wire at the TPS start to break from flexing and cause the same issue. You will get a TPS voltage high DTC if this is the case.

Or you could also have an engine misfire that isn't occurring often enough to set the check engine light. The PCM has to see a certain amount of misfires per RPM to set a DTC. It is something like 10 misfires on a certain cylinder per 300 rpm. That will also cause a noticeable jerking feeling from the engine.

pulled some codes out all pointing to the right rear wheel. I had trouble with the sensor a few months ago ( it had water in it). We pulled the plug off and both it and the sensor are corroded. After cleaning both, the hesitation is gone but now my abs/bas/esp lights are on. I guess i need a new sensor and or plug end. About 95000 kilometres on the jeep
