He only got a couple of bad bruises on his right leg,he was pulling off the highway and doing about 55mph when it let go.

Damn thats some crazy #$%@ right there....

Is he going to try and fix it or just total it and say screw it?? I don't know if anyone makes replacement floor pans for them that could be welded in, i would imagine someone did as crash parts but i dont know.

I can say he sure got lucky. I've heard of guys loosing a foot with a crazy accident like that. Guess i will stay with the stock type shaft on the KJ and keep an eye on it with regular maintenance.

He's putting in new floor pans,it ripped out aftermarket floor pans since he replaced them once already.

Ahh, rusted out once before i assume?

Now that you said that, makes me wonder, would that floor have blown out like that if it had been the factory original floor in there and not welded in replacements? I guess with enough force it would have regardless.

If the metal was thin enough, the shaft still would have torn through. Just think of the acceleration that drive shaft had when it let go.
