I know a guy on another forum(Canadian)that ordered the Franky II and when the dust settled there, it cost him 1285 bones.

Wow , that's a lot of duty taxes fees.....

I wish I could have one...crappy European laws.

What, a Backbone?
If that's the case, see if you can get a hold of the law in question and post it here or send it to me via PM.
Maybe you can set up a 4X4 recovery company on the side (ie. "Tax shelter" as well!) which would necessitate the addition of a recovery winch on the front of your KJ to help other "Less fortunate" 4X4'ers get out of a jamb!
Along with some cool, tasteful non gaudy graphics-unless that would sway the "Law"! (Which I can help with free of charge... Seeing I am a Graphic Artist by trade!)
Just an idea!
I had similar yet different problems when living in The Netherlands, yet I did it anyway. The Dutch are almost as **** retentive as the Administrators over on L.O.S.T. (Don't even get me started with that! Wankers are more like it!
But anyway, look into it!
Who knows, you might be able to start a company on the side and write off all your KJ mods for tax purposes!
Let me know Eh?

wow I'm anxious to see the total spent on all your stuff

As it stands as of now I'm at (I'll round it up to the nearest $100.00!)
This does not include Provincial and Federal sales tax or duty,
I'll update "that" amount once the Backbone and lift arrive.
Hopefully this week!
Oh, I also ordered four Spidertrax wheel spacers today!

So, before 5% Provincial sales tax (PST) and 7% Goods and services tax (GST)
and duty (Probably only for the OME Coil springs because they come
from Australia and I'm not sure if N.A.F.T.A. considers these parts as
duty free!
$1700.00 CDN Funds.
This includes the various fluctuating Canadian/U.S.A. Currency exchange rates
So, add 12% to this (And yes, the Canadian Customs calculates this
amount of tax on the whole price including the currency exchange and shipping!

Cheap bastards!the_finger.gif

So... So far...
$1904.00 Canadian Dollars for merchandise worth,
$1572.00 U.S. Dollars
Thats...
$332.00 added in shipping and tax's!
Like I say, it will go up because I still need to add U.P.S. brokerage fees
and duty.

Had I bought the OME Coils, struts and shocks here, just those four
items would of cost $1400.00 Canadian Dollars and insisted "They"
install them again due to warranty BS!
So, add an additional $600.00 Dollars for installation for a $2000.00 total
plus 12% tax for a total of,
$2240.00!

I asked the shops I visited for the price of Rancho parts to bring the
price down a little, but they would not sell me another's manufactures struts
and shocks because of OME's warranty and they didn't want to taking any
chances with possible future issues or problems!

So, F 'Em!
I'll do business with the U.S. again!
Better service anyway!

Now, for less money, I get the A Arms and the Backbone!
Better deal if you ask me!

Cheers
Ry'

Oh yeah!
I've been working on a story board for the how to's.
Having been a graphic artist for a long long time it should be fun to pst "How to" articles.
I can only imagine the comments I'll br getting!:D
Yeah, the money adds up quickly!
I remember sitting down one evening with three binders full of receipts and tallying up the cost of my 1976 Mini build.
$54,986.96 and I am not entirely done with that car yet!
Another $9000.00 should be enough to really finish him!
I can only wonder just how much the KJ will cost when I go SFA on my (our!) KJ!!!
All you folks will see many Astrix attached to certain parts of my build.
Those are for all the bad words not excepted on these forums.
I'll email them upon request!

Take care Eh!
Ry'
