T Case

Same company,same t-case,but can be very different depending on the last letter designation("J" ,"C","D",and so on).

Would the one in my kj be J? Advance adapters has an adapter to go from a np231 out of a jeep to a turbo 350 out of a Chevy so trying to figure out if my nv231 is the same as the np231 out of jeeps

np = new process
nv = new venture

For the most part, people use np/nv interchangeably. The former became the latter in the early 90's - company name change.

I have an '80's chevy 231 tcase out back.... I know it won't fit a jeep, but probably shares some internal parts.


The 241 is just a 231 with a 1/4" wider chain.You can put the 241 guts into a 231 case as it's more commonly known as the 231HD.

Good info. I also like that it has a 32-spline output and 1330 series driveline.

Just measured... rear t-case yoke is nearly 4" wide. U-joint is 3-5/8" across. 1330 indeed. :smoke2:
