strange knocking under drivers seat (lift issue)

Hey guys- it's been 1 happy year with the JBA 3.5 econo lift.

however- last month i started to hear a loud knock from somewhere under the driver's seat.

It is not seat related cause i can hear it coming from somewherer in the seat/footwell area from underneath the car. It happens when i flex- or go over speedbumps or even nasty potholes. it is a loud knock - like there is someone with a hammer knocking on the floor.

I dove under the kj- but i could not find anything that might knock in that area.

I went to our local FCA garage and he was all like "dude it is a unibody-u have too much lift' everything is bound to break and flex and tear". I don't buy into that theory. (although the steering rack is already in a bad condition and u can see why' angle is steep)

any ideas?

Under driver seat...have you checked the front driveshaft? That's where I would look first.

FIRST do not go back to that garage, they are dunmba****
Look at the rear boot on front driveshaft first thing
then check all bolts etc , go over everything

I have this exact problem and on monday I have an appointment to have it checked out.

Too much lift?:happy175: Yeah that garage didn't know jack. Like has been said check the front driveshaft, specifically the ends. After that it's just gonna be a methodical check of all the bolts and nuts in that area, but expand from that area b/c sound carries funny on our KJ's.

had my driveshaft checked- it's fine.

The missus took the libby today - she went over a speedbump and stopped on the curb- she thought she hit something. it's terrible.
