That unit only works on SELECT OEM Head units, and I am not sure if Jeep is one of them unless your head unit is already Satellite ready. I have one of there Sirius ONE units in my Jeep http://www.myradiostore.com/sirius/...-one-sv.html?gclid=CMeZl5feho8CFQspFQodCy-12A It is kind of a old unit but it fits down in the little cubby hole on my 03 pretty nicely and I have it hard wired to intercept the radio signal which requires 2 adapters because we have a special small end. My antenna is mounted in front of the third brake like and the wire is run down behind the light in threw a existing whole in the roof of the car and is sent the rest of the way down the passenger side. I have had no problem with my setup since installing it when I bought my Liberty.

These look like your options, the first 2 require a separate Satellite radio unless yours is Satellite ready, the last is a whole unit and is kind of pricey and still reqires a separate satellite unit from what I read.

This is what I used, then another antenna adapter to make it all work together. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fRIT7I5OW5B/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=251550&i=607FMDA25&tp=1701

You might want to research the actual programming available on both XM and Sirius radio before your purchase. I suggest trying the free trial for the Internet versions before you buy. I have both and I prefer XM over Sirius, it has a lot more of the music that I like. On the other hand Sirius has fewer dead spots in my area due to more satellites.

Yea, I'm trying them right now actually. See what one I like better in a couple days.

With the "dock & play" units, do they just come with a cig. lighter adapter and another wire or something for the antenna? Can I mount the antenna inside or does it have to go outside?

I really dont know much about these, and my buddys told me it would be better if I got one of the "dock & play" units because I could take it from the jeep and put it in my boat or something if I wanted to....

The "dock and play" units have an antenna, built in FM modulator, and a cigarette lighter plug. They average about $60. With an adapter, they will be compatible with the USA SPEC device mentioned earlier.
The antennas should be mounted on the top of the vehicle and at least 6 inches from the glass. For my XM I mounted the antenna (magnet mount) between the third brake light and the factory Sirius antenna. If you are going to transfer it to your boat then it might be easier to get a 2nd antenna for about $30.
