lately ive noticed some things with my ****** that kind of scare me that its dying. for one, sometimes when i put it in D or R it just sits there until i give it gas, but it never clunks into gear its just smooth. second, when im driving at a constant speed it almost feels like the gears or torque converter will randomly switch but yet it is still very smooth. I know its not normal because my 02 sport never did this. I dont know much about trannys but could it be sumthing simple or am i looking at a rebuild?

Try a flush and fill. I just consulted my FSM and theres quite a bit on slipping, sludgy shifting, hunting and such. Goes on to mention sticking valvebody operation, blah blah blah, dirty fluid/filter. It didn't mention a band adjustment for the auto trans which makes me wonder if the technology has advanced quicker than my knowing about it.:) My 'velle had a TH400 and bands to adjust, as did the TF A727 in my 2 dr wanna be GTX Belvedere.

I'm really no trans expert so better wait for someone who knows what they're talking about.

I guess it could be in need of attention. Some more info would be good, is this on your 03 kj with 45 ******?
When was the last time you or dealer serviced the transmission? Have you had the dealer do a flush and re-learn?
Check your fluid on level surface after hot in Neutral is it ok?

Yes its an 03 with the 45RFE, I just bought it in march and took it in for an oil change just to see what the dealership could find wrong with it but they said it was all good, they checked the ****** fluid in front of me and said it was full and still good. ill see what other people say and then maybe do a flush and learn and filter change. BTW, if the PO did a fluid change themselves and used the wrong fluid, could that be my prob?

If the previous owner used the wrong fluid you would be buying a new ******.
I would not hesitate with your symptoms to take it into the dealer asap and have the filter & fluid flushed on their machines, and ask them if there is a software update for the TCM, and complete relearn as well.
You will be in good shape then.
How many miles on this kj?
