Dump truck ran me off the road and ended up smashing my rim and shearing my left lower control arm. I need to replace the lower ball joint and control arm. Anybody know the labor time / cost on this? Wrong time for this to happen  Buying a house.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
A new LCA from a dealer is about $460,online dealer is about $340(no known aftermarket ones available).About $40-$60 for the LBJ and then add about 1 hour of labor time and a alignment. So your looking at about between $450-$700 just to replace the LCA/LBJ alone, most Chrysler parts are on national backorder with no availability dates.Good luck.

Slightly cheaper source

Lower control arm for $213.60. I don't know if it includes the ball joint, if not you can get them for another $25 on the same site. Add shipping/handling and you're still getting everything (parts wise) for less than $300.

What model year is your Liberty? Sometimes you can get really lucky and find a really low price at this site: http://www.wholesalemopar.com As an example, they show the 2002 left lower control arm for $193.60. But the right lower control arm is $343.64. Some other model years they're both $343.64.

Sounds to me like the guy in the dump truck ought to be paying for this. Did he just take off?

i ended up ordering it from Morris 4x4 center. Hopefully they get it to me soon. They had both items in stock (only one LCA) and matched the price of Rustys. Rustys didn't have it in stock.
$165.21 for both shipped to my door... I cant believe how much dealers overcharge.

Is there any trick i should know about installing them? Or just unbolt and bold the new ones in?
Align after of course.

Has anybody dealt with Morris 4x4 before? I almost expect a call saying "oh this is a $400+ part... so we cant ship it for that price. SORRY!"

wish i got his tags
From that mopar site, I got:
Lower control arm
Liberty, Left or Right
List Price : $474.00
Your Price : $379.20

Can still turn it in to your insurance if you have a low enough deductible, it was an accident regardless...

Ebay dude; yhey're MUCH cheaper there, Syart at like $50.00 to $235.00 - some are used, but you don't need a brand new one. The used ones probably have ball joints on them, so that would be a plus to buy...

Check the CAM bolts too, they are for adjusting CAMBER, to make sure none a bent.

Well, it is as easy as removing the old ones, putting the new ones on, but the actual EASY part? Depends how hard it will be getting the other ones off, then adjusting camber when you're done.

The LBJ is pressed into the knuckle so that will need to come off and press the old one out and press the new one in.
