One issue I've been struggling with is what to do about the driver's side seat in our '04. Should I get a used one off Craigslist or via Car-parts. Or I could have the frame welded for $100 or so, but that doesn't fix the broken lumbar handle or the padding that's thinned out. Of course I could try to find a new one, but I'd imagine Chrysler would charge a small fortune for one. J.C. Whitney sells supposedly compatible seats, but I question both thier quality and whether they'd actually fit without need of modification.

One way or another, I have to figure something out. My wife has back issues and carpel tunnel. Because she cannot adjust the seat for her, it makes it virtually impossible for her to drive safely. Anyone have any ideas where I can get a good seat from?

Junkyard or craigslist. Seats are pretty easy to swap. Keep your wife comfy.

Seats....

Get your seat from a salvage yard. You can buy a driver seat for the frame and hardware. If your upholstery is worn out, find a passenger side front seat with the same upholstery and change it to the driver side. The passenger seat bottom bolts right in to the driver side. You have to change the seat reclining hardware from the driver side to the passenger seat back but it then fits. Cheapest and best quality way out to address driver seat issues.

As many Jeeps as he has, make him an offer and just drive the whole works away. It would save you from having to put everything together. :D
