What's the general notion / opinions here on using seaform in a high mileage KJ? Good / bad?

Let's divide the question to three:
In the gas tank?
In engine oil? (Must change oil right after?)
Inject to vacuum line?

imo...and people will disagree. As long as you are doing regular maintenance with decent products they already have the detergents and additives needed in them so i dont see the point. I could be very wrong though and its probably circumstantial

I like to add 2 bottles of Chevron Techron concentrate to a full tank and take the KJ for a good long hwy drive.

This will safely clean the injectors & back side of valves.
Before I change the spark plugs I have used seaform before.
I removed hose at rear of intake with separate hose & a funnel, drivers side.

The secret is to set rpm to 1500-1800 and pour it in really slow, taking breaks, over 15 minutes.
I let it then sit for 15 minutes, and then take it for a good hwy run with overdrive off to get the rpms up there..

I've never used seafoam myself but I have read that if you don't always use top tier fuel (fuel will extra detergents) its a good idea to add detergents to keep your injectors from clogging. I use Lucas fuel additive every now and then that I buy by the gallon, not sure how it stacks up to other brands but who knows. And for oil I've read that if you use a high quality synthetic such as mobil 1 or penzoil platinum there is enough detergents in there to keep your engine clean. I'm a bit leary of adding non oil to the oil system unless there was a real serious problem.

It's had some effect with the jeep, but holy spy hunter smoke screen batman! when I stick it in the neon. also have done it on a friend's VW Tiguan recently. yea, it looked like the whole town got bombed from all the smoke. It made a hell of a difference in the VW though that time.

Used Seaform numerous times in several vehicles. When used correctly it works! On longer trips, I put a can per ten gallons of gas. I put half a can in crankcase before oil change and run it for about 100 miles. Cleaning your top end, you need two people. One pours 1/4 to 1/2 can into vacuum line attached to the brake booster. Let sit for about 20 mins and restart and take vehicle on a run to clean it out. If you go to youtube there are several good videos to show you how to do it.
