Im returning my scangauge, unless someone wants to buy it from me. I am looking at palmerperformance ScanXL Pro. I am really wanting to get more detail out of what is going on with my Liberty.

Any thoughts (or takers on the scangauge)?

You most likely will not get anymore info that what you already have,the KJ's PCM will only display so many PIP's no matter what scanner or dodad you use.

I guess what Im looking for is more information on the engine... misfires, historical information (which is a big one), ignition timing advance, the chrysler entended codes (which they are going to release soon).

Example of why I decided against the scangauge II. Driving down the highway the other day at 70MPH, had a loss of engine power, just for a brief moment. I didn't catch to see if my RPMs went down, or it was an issue with the fuel system, or anything. It didn't throw any engine codes, and has not happened since. But once was enough for me to raise my eyebrows and wonder what happened.

Since I always travel with my laptop, i figured, why not plug it in and let it monitor everything it can and if something happens like that, i can always go back and see what happened in the historical info.

I might get the ultragauge since its under 60.00 to supplement the ScanXL.

Does this make sense or am I just being paranoid about my Jeep?

May be paranoid but a phrase I hear is better safe than sorry. I'm not familiar with the programs but I know there are a ton of usb obd adapters that include at least a trial of one program or another. I ordered a generic bluetooth module to use with my android phone and the program "torque". A car charger is pretty much a necessity but my screen is big enough (over 4") and fast enough (overclocked to just over 1200mhz). I can't remember if torque logs and if it does, what it logs or the frequency updates.
