Roof racks

Might be going on a looong drive next month with the KJ and need some extra space to carry stuff so in need for some recommendations on reasonably priced roof racks. Probably won't use it again afterwards. Shoot!

Pretty sure you need the horizontal roof rails to run a roof rack
The better quality and more aerodynamic (slimmer) ones are more expensive
If you don't care about either really then just do a quick Google search and find one

this is what i did for the cross bars...works great. I used chain link fence top rail for the bars.

Please if installing one don't mount it 6-8 inches above the roof like most do

I believe these Fittings & Railing | Kee Klamp Fittings | Kee Safety - 16 5 - Clamp on Tee, 3/4" Dia. | 296382 - GlobalIndustrial.com not from that site but same ones

there are multiple sizes

Mounted nice and low, with the deflector up front made no difference in mileage or noise like some

Agreed, 1-3" or as low as your crossbars will allow.

You can get these on eBay too. Just got 6 pairs for like 10$ recently.

Someone gave me a Yakima roof basket. Not sure what truck it was made for. But then I realized, I would need cross bars, to mount it. I probably will never use the roof basket. I was just looking for a way to bring home a few pieces of 4 by 8 plywood, from the Home Depot. Without messing up or scratching up my roof. Anybody have any ideas?
I'm in NE Philly, if anyone wants my roof basket for free. Would love to help out someone on this forum. Because, I am so grateful for all the help I have gotten, on repairing my Jeep.
