This 458 is dipped, and it's wheels too.

Point is a dipped car can look VERY good if done right. Not to mention for on the trail stuff plastidip isn't going to scratch like regular paint. It's not for you ok, but just saying it's very possible to get a very nice finish with the dipyourcar kits.

Don't waste your time doing the whole jeep. Grille bumpers flares and wheels are ok but you'll be wasting money for the whole jeep. Why not save up 1-2,000$ and get it done right the first time

Because as we were talking, now days a full respray can be more than 2k pretty easily. Honestly seems best to either pro dip or vinyl wrap now days. Painting a car has just gotten SO expensive.

Painting a car will last 10+ years if you take care of it. Dipped/Vinyl wrap 3 maybe 5 years..pro wrappers say they will last 3 years for a wrap and plastidip fades with time and doesnt look good

Those are also cars that are babied and never see water. ice. salt or much else than a garage. Try dipping a jeep and run a trail and see how it comes out.

Because first thing I want to do after dropping 5k+ on a paint job is run up the trail and scratch it up :)

Ok, spend a decent 1-2k on a dip or up to 3 on a wrap, go up a hill and have the dip or wrap come off. That works too

Either way, paint can be touched up, dip and wrap cannot be. Whole panel has to be re done.

Dipping or wrapping will cost just as much as your basic pro paint job(nothing fancy for color or complete color change) and dipping will only last a year if your lucky and a wrap is toast after the 1st trail run.

My paint still looks pretty good after 14 years but 8 coats of clear helped there.

One thing that I've thought about doing to protect my paint when off roading is getting some magnetic sheets and cutting those out to fit the body of the KJ. Wash the Jeep, stick them on, go wheeling, take them off.

A good hit from a branch or something can peel the dip right off your rig. I have put quite a few good scratches in my clear coat which were able to be buffed out. If all fails just bedline it lol.

Should have seen my Jeep after running Black Mountain trail system a few years back. Most of those trails are 4 wheeler/razor sized trails with very thick brush.
