Rear door lock problem

Our 2004 Jeep Liberty is acting weird, or I'm just missing something? The rear door will not unlock when the car is running, but if you shut the car off the door will unlock. Not a big deal, but very annoying. Anyone have an idea of what's wrong?

it should unlock with the unlock switch on either side of the front doors even when the jeep is running. I think the exception is when you have the rear wiper going.
Does it not do that?

I don't know whether this is an option but the central locking system will lock all 5 doors.

Could your Child Protection Door Lock be enabled?
