Good-day to All:),

Hope all is Ok; please forgive my English, as I’m not very good at it.

I have a small issue and will be grateful for your help and input, I’ve ordered for 2 MOOG K3199 lower ball joints for my kj 2005 Reneged from Amazon (pix attached) and they've arrived but when I gave them to the mechanic for installation he said that they will not install as they will be touching the excel part due to the thick metal base it has.

Doe’s this make any sense:confused:, as I’m not a technical person. If it will help I also have the RRO ROCKFATHER DELUXE lift kit installed and it contains the following:

New Old Man Emu front custom springs.
Under-the-Top® strut cap and spacers for 3" leveling lift in front.
Old Man Emu front strut shocks.
Custom full height rear springs. Full height! Not small springs with a spacer included.
Rocky Road engineered rear shocks
Optional pre-assembly of the front struts.
INSANE ARMS upper A-arm control arms included.

Link to the RRO lift kit : http://www.rocky-road.com/kjrockfather.html

Many thanks for you help in advance,

But how to install them...is there any "How To" for this please.

I don't know if there's a how to, but I think you need a press to ge the job done or you could rent the tool at your autoparts, I don't think it can be done with regular sunday mechanic tools....like the one I got :D

I think what he's saying is the mechanic couldn't get them pressed in all the way and its hitting the axle...

Sounds like a press is needed to get them in correctly is all.

All year kj's use the same ball joints.

Has the mechanic tried to install them or is he just saying they will hit the cv axle? He may think they are going to hit since the top part is thicker but, if they are the ones in the picture you posted the they will work just fine.

If you Google both numbers on the link he gave, they both come up for different model years like he said. But I also noticed one of them is definetly made in China. Interesting.

The '02-'07 KJ's use the same LBJ.Moog makes 2 versions of the K3199's,1 with the grease zerk and one without and both fit the '02-'07's just fine.

Is the grease zerk on the side of that LBJ? Man, I gotta get me some of those!! The ones I bought have the grease fitting on the top of the balljoint. Pretty useless as far as I'm concerned. What's the PN for the joint in the pic?

So, if I order the MOOG K3199 from Rock Auto, 'cause we can't be certain to get those here in the frozen arctic.... will they have a zerks fitting on the side like the one in your photo? I'd like to be damn sure, restocking fees are a B****.

They should,to be sure I would call and order and be sure to tell them you want the greaseable ones.I ran into that problem when I got mine,1 was greaseable and 1 wasn't but CarQuest overnighted the correct one at no charge and delivered it to me also.
