I'm replacing the 3.7 in my fiance's 02 Liberty and have the old engine out, front cover off, bolt out of pickup tube, and the pan still won't drop. I read somewhere that there is 1 bolt and 2 nuts to remove when dropping the pan, but don't know where the 2 nuts are, assume the 1 bolt is the one on the pickup tube flange. What am I missing here?

Spent a few minutes looking at this thing hanging on the hoist - the problem is the windage tray is stuck to the pan still, and you have to separate the windage tray from the pan first - then the pan comes off, exposing the nuts. and while the manual says not to pry on the pan or tray it's going to be tough to get them separated without some judicious use of a thin scraper, which screws up the gasket on the windage tray. Anyway it's off, full of carboned up sludge that Chrysler says is not a problem in the 3.7 - huh?

Sludge is an issue in any engine if you don't take care of it. :icon_lol:
