oh jeez.. an odd noise

when i step on the accelerater there is an imediate noise. it sounds like a cricket. it only does it when i step on the gas and then it goes away. its very annoying. anyone possibly know what this noise could be??!!

I had this same problem and it turned out to be a bearing in one of my pulleys

Get a mechanic's stethescope and Carefully listen to each pulley as it runs and you will find the squeak. If it is the idler(which is most likely) consider replacing it. Also check for serpentine wear. If the groove side is cracked, replace both the idler and belt.
