If you're planning your first off-road excursion, or if you're a seasoned veteran it's always nice to have a checklist to look at and make sure you've brought everything. Post up with your own favourite gear (or whatever I forgot).

Rig Related
Drinks & Food (had to list this first)
Tow Strap
Winch and Accessories (snatch block, tree huggers, etc)
Receiver (receiver ball and pin)
Receiver Shackle
Spare Tire
12v Air Compressor
Hi-Lift (jack & hand operated winch)
Hand Tools (Pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchet set, etc)
Windex/Paper Towel
WD-40 (lubes & clears up electrical problems)
Spare bulbs
Flashlight (check batteries!)
Trail Flag (so others can see you)
GPS
Cellphone/CB/FRS
First-aid kit (at the very least bandages/gauze)
Duct Tape
Camera/Video Recorder
Garbage Bags!!! (leave it cleaner than you found it!)

That's my quick brainstorm... jump in and add your own gear.

shovel (folding shovel is very small and fits under a seat pretty easily)
gloves (keep hands clean + prevent injury on rope/strap/chain/etc)
boots (keep mud on ground, not on socks)
towel (to cover seats if you get muddy and have to get back in)
Jumper cables (you never know)
Bugspray (keep it in the jeep, when you're standing around waiting/spotting, it gets REAL buggy around the mud)
Spare junker sweatshirt - it's good to keep one of those in the jeep anyway.
