I have some pictures of my CV joints, every time I hit a bump with my wheel turned from both ways it sounds like the wheel is wiggling around. I had new brakes and rotors installed a few months ago and I get a squeaking at low speeds, it started when the guy from the tire shop down the street installed them for some cash... I don;t know what that could be from. And now my rear wheels are making noises, if I kick one it sounds like the wheel is loose on both wheels. My jeep only has 90,000 miles on it and I don't think this should be happening to me yet...

So that is not the CV joint? I hate how this truck needs new parts all the time, it is still under 100k miles.
Things wear out, plus if you don't take care of things they go bad
Looking under yours you can tell how rusty it is etc
For example mine with over 180,000 and living in the Rust Belt doesn't look half as bad
You have to replace the whole upper arm since you can not just replace the ball joint.
Or you could upgrade to JBAs UCAs at this time

I have no clue how it could get so rusty, my jeep has never seen snow/salt, it has been a Florida car. Plus, I dont drive hard and we have no pot holes or anything of that nature in SWFLA. Any ideas about the rear wheels?

You have salt from the ocean, so you need to wash under it just as often as we do in the snow belt. Salt is ******* rubber bushings, etc
What about the rear ???
what kind of noises? When?

That's what I dont get, I wash the Jeep all the time and spray underneath the car too, I need to have a clean car for what I do for work and it sits in a garage most of the time since I work from home and I am about 15 miles away from the water...

As for the rear if I kick the tire it sounds like the tire is loose. I only happens sometimes, it sounds like a knock. If I went out there and rocked the truck back and forth it sounds like something is loose, maybe like a barring or whatever holds the tire on. and its from both tires...

Thanks for all the help tommudd

So I just went crawling under my jeep and took some pics of what I saw, I also see what looks like a leak on my rear diff and some residue where the drive shaft connects to the ******...

Need to check the bushings in the lower control arms, check the bushings and rear ball joint on the upper tri link , either of them could be bad
As for salt I've bought a few cars from Florida to flip, even ones 15-20 miles from the ocean I always checked the bottoms of the doors due to a lot of them being rusted out. Owners took great care of them, but salt in the air/rain still rusted things out

Not sure what year your KJ is (maybe I missed it somewhere), but do you know if the ball joint recall work has ever been done?

It is a 2005, it has been serviced in this area at Jeep as well. Only thing is I lifted it, I don;t know if that would void anything.

Just got off the phone with them and they said it was repaired in 2006 which was right before I bought the Jeep...

noise from front end

wondering if anyone ever heard a scrapping noise from front end of libby over bumps, sounds like dust covers on front shack rubbing on shock body - anyone have this issue, if so how to fix?:manos:

***2004 liberty, 2.5 ome springs, revtek front spacer, extra rear isolator, arb bush bumper, fog lights and some kelly safari mudders***
