Like you all on here, I LOVE my KJ and ill go to great lengths to make her a happy truck. I recently had a rod bearing go and she's making all sorts of noise so I went to the local bone yard in Howell, Michigan and grabbed the only 3.7 v6 they've ever had (rare motor to find and trust me they're expensive) with miles under 100K. This will be my first engine swap, and what a better vehicle to learn on then a jeep? ill let you all know how it goes within the next two weeks. wish me luck jeep enthusiasts

Pomina, what ended up happening with your engine swap? Did you find the source of the coolant leak into the oil pan? Did the remanufacturer back up their warranty?

Details!

hi BOB, well, they asked me to remove the sump?? guess they have no idea how hard that is with the motor in!! so i told them what difference is that going to make and pulled the motor out, so it shopuld arrive back at them tomorrow, they say they have another block ready for mer, so we will see? i did note when i removed the oil pickup and cover that when you block off both outlets and put a hose in the inlet that the water is leaking out through the middle cylinder on driver side?? so we shall see how good the unlimited warranty is!! oh and they will be getting a bill for the radiator that got damaged when pulling the motor out again and the hours of labour i put into it:)

Wow, sorry for all the troubles. And just when you expect that the "new" engine would be plug-n-play too. :disgust:

Keep us posted...
