Hi all,
I am not only new to 'jeepkj.com' but this is the first post on the first forum I've been on, ever:icon_exclaim:, so PLEESE be gentle.

I own a 2002 Cherokee (Europe) 2.5CRD Sport; Replica V8 Morgan; 2008 Peugeot 207sw 1.6 Hdi.

Although based in Yorkshire England, I also spend 4-6 months per year in rural France (100 klms East of Bordeaux).

Currently experiencing serious electrical problems with the Jeep, which is currently in France, so any suggestions as to the best place to post details of the problem, would be helpful.

A belated Happy New Year to you ALL.

Welcome ... from across the pond :)

Congrats on your purchase ...

My Sis lives in Jersey so I get lots of "Southern France" stories :D

P.S. We need pics of the Morgan Replica

Gracar - newbie

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome.

Luke, I attach a couple of pics of V8 Morgan replica 'MOV 7X'.

I'll post my Electric problems on the CRD KJ section.

Cheers for now.

Graham

I'm not an auto mechanic and am new to the Jeep world as of last May, but the prices they quoted you for the electrical stuff sounds ridiculous. I know people outside the US generally pay a hefty premium for parts, but they must be planning to have the head of the service department fly 1st Class both ways and pick the stuff up in person. My gut feeling is that they:

A) Either don't want to work on it and are trying to scare you off, or
B) Don't have a clue and are guessing high to allow them to learn on the job while they figure it out as they go along, or
C) They think you're a sucker and intend to bleed you.

I saw your thread over in the CRD section and am confident that you will get some great advice from people who have been through this. Even if I'm wrong about all of the above they should be able to give you a reasonable estimate as to what to expect. :)

'Stealership' charges in Europe

Hi profdlp,

Yes you're right, this dealer was the one in Limoges, France. I've found France is generally even more expensive than England. Unfortunately I couldn't drive the Jeep back to England without windscreen wipers, lights and a speedo working, not legally anyway:thumbsdown:

I did get the feeling, that they just wanted me to buy a new Jeep!
