Yeah, I am pissed. These colors are the old ones from about 20 years ago before they went to the current ones.

And we have to pay for them. The State is just looking for money.

Dave, this state robs everyone. Like they couldn't say add'l tax, pay up... They have to slap this ugly ************* on our vehicles? It looks like someone slapped a pampers carrying baby diarrhea.

Comparing to the old plates, this is nothing like it.. Older ones had classier font and looked so much better. This is crap. I can't even imagine seeing this on my black KJ, or seeing this damn color combination on ever vehicle out there.

US traffic dept *****. Look at euro plates, they are the best.

Looking at it, I can see some liking it.
What is the deadline to swap the plates? I think I will get mets or knicks or something just so I don't get this crap. It is the only way.

Funny you should mention robbing and taxes. I was in court a couple of weeks ago for a ******** ticket (which got dismissed) from Nassau County. I was in Lake Success, and the very first thing the judge said was that every fine will be followed up with an $85 surcharge because the state of NY needs the money.

I miss the old license plates where when you saw:

Dark Blue you knew it was California.
Light Blue you knew it was New Jersey.
Bright Yellow was New Mexico
Dark Yellow was Alaska.
Red was Arizona
Orange was Oregon

And so on.

Now, it's

A panoramic pastel sunset with a cowboy: Wyoming
A panoramic pastel sunset with a rock with a hole in it: Utah
A panoramic pastel sunset with a tree and a moon: South Carolina
A panoramic pastel sunset with a yucca: New Mexico
A Panoramic pastel sunset with a hot-air baloon: Also New Mexico
A panoramic pastel sunset with a waterfall and mountain: Washington
A panoramic pastel sunset with...nothing else: Florida
A panoramic pastel sunset with...wheat stalks (or whatever) Nebraska

And now some states have like 18 different plates. Pretty soon, people are gonna be driving around with pictures of their kids or pets. I can't wait.

In California you can get hearts, stars, clovers, rainbows and blue moons!

I kinda like the new NY plates. I don't think they look that bad. I don't think the previous ones were anything special.

The last word was it is not going through.

hatetofu......the "new plate" colors are from the 1960's and 70's and the yellow is obnoxious. You would need to see it in person. The current plate is more representative of the state. It has the Adirondack Mountains, Niagra Falls, and the Statue of Liberty on the border and the colors are a pleasing blue and white.

The issue is not so much with the new plate ( but it is obnoxious) but with the forced cost of it and the bs reason for the change.

It's getting to the point where the plates come down to week of issue. I remember when florida just had the white plate with the orange state on it. Now they have weeds and fruit on it, then they have weeds, fruit and flowers on it....

Not to be confused with Georgia's plate which has some other fruit on it.. a peach I think.

The weed is because of all of the pot heads here...

Georgia's plates are brown with white letters and a peach on it. I see them a bit here.
