Hi everyone. I drive a 2005 Jeep Liberty - absolutely love it!!!! I have a few extra toys on it but the issue I have right now is I live in New York - the salt likes the factory rims they put on. I cannot find a place that would sell my size wheels or rims for the 2005 Jeep liberty. 17", 5 lug, 7"deep. Anyone know. I like the Incubus rims but havent been able to find them to fit my jeep. I dont want to spend 1/2 $K on them either! Thanks Karena;)

Welcome to the site Karena!!

I moved your post from the KK (2008+ Jeep Liberty) to the KJ (2002-2007 Jeep Liberty). I know a few of the members here have searched high and low for specific rims. Hopefully someone will chime in regarding what you are looking for. I had the 16x7 stock rims when I bought my 2004 and moved to a 16x8" rim.

There are a few aftermarket rims that will work. The basics: You want 16"x8", 5 on 4.5" lug pattern, with 5" inches of backspacing.

Moabs and Cragar Soft 8's are a couple that I know of that come in this size.

I won't be able to get tires for them for several months but, I'm picking up a set of Cragars tomorrow! Can't wait!, I'll finally have more tire choices. :D

Thank you

hi there - thank you for your responses! I have great new tires - just the rims are getting rusty on the edges. I cannot believe there isnt a market out there for the tires for these jeeps. Actually the few accessories that are out there for Libertys are expensive. Does anyone have secret accessory stores/shops/websightss to share!:)

What are you looking for? Here's a couple that I'd buy from again:

http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/
http://rustysoffroad.com/

and a couple that are highly recommended by others:

http://www.boulderbars.com/
http://www.detoursusa.com/

and this is something you'll want to bookmark. When you get tired of the recalls on them, order 2 of these and have them installed or put 'em in yourself, if you have the tools...

Be extremely wary of Rocky Road Outfitters. Search for them on here and lostkjs.com to understand why.

If your rims are rusty buy my original wheels they shouldnt rust! Did yours come with just the stock steel wheels?
Oh and the list above stay away from Rustys if you want good service and parts!

AS far as rims most(not all) rims with the bolt pattern of 4.5 on 5 will fit on the KJ,from 15" to 22".Aluminum 15" rima will not fit due to the brakes, but some steel 15" rims will.Try to stay no wider then 8" rims with no more then 4.5"-5" backspacing,16x7 rims with 4.5"-5" backspacing works real well on a KJ.The factory rims are 16x7 with 5.5" of backspacing or 17x7.5 with 5.5" of back spacing.

So that leaves you with about 1000+ rim choices, just find a style you like that fits within the specs of what will fit on a KJ and you'll be set.

Welcome!

I too have the dreaded 17" rims. I recently attempted to find some nice all terrain tires for them. That was certainly a chore, there is hardly any choices out there.

If you don't like your rims, my suggestion is to either wait to you need new tires and then purchase a set of 16" rims, or to buy new tires and rims, and sell your tires (if they still have a lot of treadlife left).

I am planning on getting a set of 16" black steel rims, and hopefully the BFG All Terrains that I have been wanting for ages (which they don't make in the 17" size). I also like the look of more tire. The 17" gives it more of a street appearence.
