Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Well I just arrived in MOAB,I was suprised as h$ll at the mpg's I got on the 420mile trip.I filled up 3 times(I'm getting old and need to stretch my back often),the 1st fill-up I got 17.4mpg's,the 2nd was 18.4mpg's,and the 3rd was a whopping 19.7mpg's.Not to shappy for a fat hog that my KJ is,sitting at 5500lbs not including the suit case of clothes, full Frankinlift, spare parts/fluids,and the cooler full of beer.

Oh and I just replaced every fluid in the KJ and every filter(even the fuel filter, washed my AEM air filter).I guess good maintance does pay off:D.

Did you happen to draft behind a semi the whole way?
Nope, keeped it at the speed limit,65-75mph.Went from 6000' to 7300',then back to 5400',then up to 7400',then way up to 10,500',and back down to 4700'.It will be interesting to see the mpg's #'s on the trip back.

With a stiff tailwind???
Nope, not windy at the time of travel.

I was shocked,but the #'s didn't lie,and I used a calculator.

I just went on a 300mi road trip and back. On the way there i got 19.5 mpg at 75mph. On the way back i got 18.6 mpg at 70 mph. I always get worse coming back because it is more uphill.

I was dissapointed when we only managed 21mpg on a 300 mile trip this weekend. On the way back we did slightly better @ 22mpg. Last long trip we took we managed 24mpg.

I'm not going to have very many,I didn't do a trail today but instead decided to help out a fellow KJ'er and replace his steering rack today,I found a way to replace it in under 4 hours.

Just did a 2,200 mile trip. I averaged anywhere between 19-24 mpg in my 07 liberty. I have owned it and since December 3 and already have 9,100 miles on it. At this rate the factory warranty will be expired at the one year mark.

Did you buy it new? If so, at least you'll still have the lifetime powertrain warranty, lol.

My "Mark 1 Mod 0" 2003 KJ got 23 MPG when I drove it from Texas to Virginia last month.

Good maintenance DOES pay off. And not driving 80+ on the freeway.
