When I bought my 07 used in May, one of the first things I did was had all the fluids changed. The overflow tank for the radiator had clumps of stuff floating in it that looked like cottage cheese. It was bad enough that the guy even removed it and scrubbed it out by hand. I shudder to think of what that stuff would do to the little tubes in the heater core. Needless to say, a good backflush and complete change and it still looks clean now - with plenty of heat. I'm guessing that the previous owner (who generally took good care of the Jeep) used the wrong stuff at some point. I'm glad it's out of there now. :)

The KJ heating system was sure nice around here last night and today, HJ. Bet it's coming in real handy in your neck of the woods, right? ;)

Yeah it has! Pretty much have to back it off to half way after a few minutes. :Big Laugh:

I'd agree that a coolant flush is in order from the dealer.

I had one done at the dealer about 2 years ago, I'll check my receipts later if you'd like.

For the dealership look at about $90-$120.Check there websites as many may have a coupon to save some $$$ on coolant flushes since it is winter time. The local dealership closest to me has a $20 off coupon right now for a coolant flush.
