I have decided to get a Lock-Right locker installed into my rear differentail. How much will a mechanic want to do this?

It's not worth it, just do it yourself. Also, get a Powertrax if you're getting a lunchbox. It cost ThunderbirdJunkie a chipotle burrito and a 6 pack of Sam Adams.
is it an air locker?

No
well since you have to R&R the front diff , they'll get you for 5 or 6 hours labor there, plus the install which is not difficult but.....

plus the only one's you can put in are a Detroit TruTrac or an ARB

Rearend, he's 2wd ;)

Any of the lunchbox lockers can be done in your drive with few tools. You will need 2 jacks or stands, read the directions before starting.

So do you have the Aussie right now TBJ? If so, are you getting a TT now?

Yup, there's an Aussie in the rear of ThunderbirdJunkie's KJ
Detroit Locker is going to replace it. A TruTrac would be a step backwards in performance.

ITBJHO if you put a limited slip in a 4x4 that really gets wheeled, you need your head examined.

Yeah, but ThunderbirdJunkie feels he may as well spring for an ARB if he's going to be paying $500+install for a TruTrac anyway

To the OP
my .02 do not waste the money on a locker in a 2wd
just get the 4wd

Now Detroit in the rear and ARB in the front
run locked rear open front ,3wd, until you need that 4th wheel
