Just swapped out the worn front pads on my '02 for a new set of carquest ceramic pads and noticed that when stopping sometimes there is a metal to metal grinding noise. Old pads on the driver's side were pretty worn when compared to the passenger's side, especially the inside pad on the DS. Caliper slides smoothly on the pins and I was very careful when compressing the caliper piston so as not to get it crooked. Everything came apart and went back together with no problems.

Only thing that didn't get done was having the rotors turned but they looked great. Any ideas ??

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Time to redo the brake and have the rotors turned or have new ones installed, might need new pads also since they will be wearing odd with a uneven rotor surface. The noise is being caused by the pads not fully contacting the worn rotors correctly.
