Okay my GY MTRs are on my truck black letters out. But I noted that the opposite side is also in black. I saw a TJ in town with GY MTRs and he had the white side wall logo, what gives?

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
There are 2 styles of the old MT/R's,one has white letters on one side and on has no white letters, same tire. There is a 3rd style and that is the Rubicon takeoff's that are the crappy MT/R's.

By new style we are talking MTR-K and by old style we are talking
tread design like the TJ Rubicon correct?
If so then night and day
the new style is improved in every way
but wear ,from what I hear but even that is mixed as I know a guy who has
them on a 2500 Chevy with 30K and still good tread

Now as far as white letters on them the new style has to have them out
as they have an inside and an out side but they are not directional
mount them wrong and they perform like crap ,seen it happen
guy could not climb a mild dirt hill

It also depends upon size: the Kevlar MT/R in 235/85R16 doesn't have white letters on either side for example.
