Dad's '06 liberty sport has a noise up front, he can feel a corresponding sensation in the steering wheel - he's had it alligned, had the wheel bearings checked, he says the universal joints on the drive-shafts have been checked, but I'm not sure how well.
His noise still exists.
From what I've read here, a very likely cuprit is the "intermediate shaft"
I haven't climbed under it, and am not famillier with what an intermediate shaft is, please confirm if what I understand is correct?

Is the intermediate shaft a short section of front half-shaft that is attached to the differential end on one side and a fixed hanger on the other where the other half of the half-shaft connects to the hub?

Intermediate shaft goes from the end of the CV into the diff on the right side. You can not see it without removing. 99.9% of the time, if it's bad so is the CV
