Just purchased a Hypertech Max Energy 52001 tonight off of craigslist. After much debate and reading of the forums, plus a call to hypertech, I found that you can in fact use part number 52001 in place of 52501 to tune our KJs! The 52001 part number for the Max Energy line is essentially the old model and they are quite a bit cheaper and more abundant in used form than the 52501 in my experience. The 52501 and 52001 are identical in terms of tuning the 3.7, they just offer a different range of vehicles that can be tuned. I tuned my 05 limited w/3.7 tonight using an updated 52001 and the regular octane profile (just make sure it has the "dodge 3.7l" profile and it will load up perfectly!). Low end torque is completely different and WOT put a big old smile on my face as its completely different in terms of pull and feel (in the best way imaginable!). I got my 52001 for 175$ locally off craigslist(there are cheaper ones out there im sure!) and I can say just from the few minutes I played with it tonight, it was most definitely a worthy purchase. In addition to the Hypertech tuner my Flowmaster Super 44 and K&N drop in filter make my KJ sound and drive so incredibly sexy!
