didn't volvo use a setup like that on their SUV's a couple/few years ago.. ? or do they still use em?

LOL they werent near as thick or large as those tjkj pictured- but the design was similar. I don't remember what the SUV was called- but it looked like a volvo

There was a Volvo XC90 that was built on Volvo portal axles from a C303 or something similar.

Some guy in California had an OK looking build with a Dodge truggy on 'mog axles

Speaking of prices I think inc once told me he spent around $8500 in parts. Goes to show the difference all depending on what combination of parts you choose..

Yeah he lept the stock t-case and rear diff.

What is the fun in that, your pushing the limits of a HP30 and 8.25 with 35" tires.

If were to go SFA...I'd be fine with 33's. Still needs to fit in the garage...

Until you start blowing axles left and right, they get expensive after awhile.Plus the guy that did the work got suckered into $2500 for labor, bet he'll never do another for anywhere close to that price for labor.Heck your looking at $7500 for labor if done by AllJ's.

FJ80 on Volvo portals. Portals rule. Not only do you get valuable ground clearance, but the portal box absorbs half the torque that the axle would normally be taking.
