The other day when I got in my Jeep and started it up my wife asks me why I turn my key half way let the guage cluster lights come on and go off before I started my Jeep... Honestly I didn't have an answer just habbit I guess. How do you guys start your Jeep? Do you just crank it on once Key is in ignition or are you like me half turn till dash lights go out and then turn her on?

I turn it over to aux and wait a second before turning the rest if the way to start. In 2 motions. I have no clue why though.

Mostly I just start it in one turning motion.

But if you pause it for about 2 seconds and listen real carefully (it's not very loud) you can hear the fuel pump prime. Any electric fuel pump will do this. Sometimes I will pause mine in the winter time when it is real cold but I don't think it makes too much difference. It always starts right up either way.

If I had to wait for all the lights to come on and off, before cranking it...
I would not have any coffee left.:icon_wink:
So key in and start it..and look at the dash after to see if there are any lights left on like the brake light (ebrake) LOL!!!
Then get the pedal down.........
Just drive.gif..drive .drive..drive...

I do this. I wait and listen for the fuel pump to kick on before I crank it all the way. It's a habit I picked up after owning a Lexus that fried fuel pump control modules just about every other week.

I'll have to ask my chauffeur. :laughing1:

Seriously, I pause a second or two at the ACC. I drove a 93 Pontiac Grand-Am for 5 or 6 years and if you didn't it wouldn't start on the first try. Fuel pump I think.
