With everything in place and connected. Simply put a ground on pin 19 of the C1(26 pin) connector on the BCM.

In short this tells the BCM that the switch has been activated. The BCM will then send a message (via the PCI Bus) to the EMIC(the cluster) to turn the indicator lamp on.

You can do this in a couple ways. 1) strip a piece of 20 or 22 gauge wire and work it into the back of the connector(pin 19) and ground the other end. 2) stick a straight pin in the same way and attach the attach the wire to it and ground it out.

Whatever you do, do not put any power on this pin. It will more than likely damage the BCM. It may not kill the BCM completely, may just make this "sense" wire input inert.

any mention of "26 pin" is reference to the number of pins in the connector. The BCM has a 22 pin and a 26 pin connector you have access to.

Pin 26 (of the 26 pin connector) is the signal to pop the rear glass release.

Pin 19 (of the 26 pin connector) is the roof light sense wire. All we need to do is put a ground on this pin. Connecting it and only it to some metal part under the dash.

IF you put the battery across the connector(wire harness) side you may not have hurt anything.
