So I’ve got the check engine light on we’re working with a Jeep liberty 2012 4 x 4 sport 3.7 V6 I replaced the coil packs spark plugs, plug wires, alternator thermostat both O2 sensors battery. The initial problem was overheating now after replacing everything and bleeding the line for the antifreeze cause apparently Eric gets stuck in the line that can cause it to overheat. I now have the check engine light blinking at me before the car is even started, which is stating that there’s some sort of ground issue I need help. I need somebody to help guide me here Pretty familiar with jeeps but this one’s throwing me for a loop anybody got any suggestions?

^^^ Too much going on here … below are some questions that might clarify.
With these questions answered, myself and others may be able to give you more insight into what is going on with your Jeep KK

Why did you replace all the ignition parts for an overheating problem?
Did firing your parts cannon at least solve the overheating problem??
Do you know which parts actually solved the overheating???
If not, under what driving conditions is the Jeep overheating?
Is the overheating problem even solved?
Who is Eric??

Obviously the last question is a joke, but all of the others are pertinent to discovering what is actually going on with your Jeep, at least with the initial problem of overheating.

In terms of the ground problem—

What is the actual DTC causing the check engine light?
Have you cleaned, tightened and double checked your battery terminal connections?
What is the physical condition of the terminals and of the actual cables?
Did you check for loose connections at the TIPM and body grounds?

Thank you for your quick response and I appreciate your guidance and your help so in terms of the overheating it has an overheated again the overflow reservoir. The last time an overheated was bubbling after replacing the second O2 sensor. It actually didn’t overheat the problem we found was that there was a 10 amp fuse Where a 15 amp fuse should’ve been that was sending whatever back-and-forth from the PCM to let the motor know it was overheating to kick on the fan and whatever other cooling parts it would obviously connect to, but due to that amperage being low, I was told that it was reading as a partially blown fuse, which means why it was throwing the overheating because it wasn’t even sending to the PCM that it was overheating Second, I replaced all those parts in hopes because it was sending a misfire code of P0038 it was sending misfire so in that case on my patriot, I replaced coil packs, spark plugs, plug wires, and it seemed to address the issue. I was hoping that would be the same thing on this. It is still sounding like a slight misfire, even after replacing all these And it’s sending a code to the OBD that it was misfiring still so that that’s where I’m at going to check all my grounds tonight, but the check engine light is blinking before I even start the car just turning the key for the check engine light is blinking. It is also blinking when it runs, which I obviously have not continued to run it because I know that detrimental to run with that light blinking any other things that might run across your mind or anything that can help would be greatly appreciated.

I was told that it was reading as a partially blown fuse,

You REALLY need to find another shop … there REALLY is no such thing as a "partially blown" fuse.
If the fuse was blown, then the fan was NOT coming on and would cause overheating.
If the fan was coming on then the fuse was NOT blown.

It will help to know EXACTLY what driving conditions did the overheating, and coolant reservoir overflow, happen under ??

DTC "P0038" could also simply be a failing exhaust 02 sensor, rather then all the other parts you replaced…

Exactly WHICH 02 sensors dod you replace?

All that said, PLEASE slow down and try to use shorter sentences and if possible try to use proper punctuation when posting … it makes it MUCH easier for others to help out!!!
