Before I start throwing out cash to a mechanic wanted to get your opinions!

My passenger side taillight is out but under these circumstances:
1. Headlights are turned on (Rear Lights Illuminate)
2. When I apply the brake rear passenger brake light goes out...

My brake light illuminates when the headlights are not on without stepping on the brake and when I do.

Is this a fuse issue?

Strange stuff. What year Jeep is it?
When headlights are turned on the running light should come on, but not the brake light and you seem to be describing that the brake light remains on when jeep is running or off or both?

Something's shorted out there bud. I've seen this occur when water intrusion into the tail light wiring causes short circuits and bridged connections... granted this was never on a KJ, but still.
