If it was wrecked, they could have use OEM signal lenses from a few years of the same Liberty. See, mine is a 2006, and the lenses say 05KJ as well...

Quite possible.... but all other evidence shows it's clean. Interesting about yours saying 05KJ on your 06. Maybe yours is an early 06 when they still had 05 lens left over.

If they don`t change the overall design, you can have the same part on different model years.

Yeah maybe I do, goes to show what you discover if you get upclose...checked the Durango and discovered it has Hella fog lights. Not so with the KJ.

Nothing new!
My 1976 British Motor Cars Mini and my 1979 Leyland motor cars Mini both say 1976 BMC ( British Motor Cars ) for the same Canadian specification side marker lights.
Also for the front parking/turn signal lights. And the same for the tail light Len's for both years (and other years in between, etc.)of those Canadian equipped Mini's and other Mini's manufactured in other countries and earlier model years as well.
Same goes for most vehicles that share the same style/model lighting equipment.
And it's not just limited to vehicle lighting Len's either!

A very good observation on your part though!

And a little off topic!
I went to the local Repossession car lot and there was a 2006 46 foot (or something Hugh like that!) Motor Coach or motor home (or call what what you will!) and it had Jeep Liberty head lamps fitted, and late 1990's KIA Magentis (Called a Ford Grenada in The Netherlands!) tail light units fitted as standard from the factory!
Go figure!
Must of been what ever was the cheapest at the time of manufacturing!

Yup ... and we can't find replacement parts any where ...lol

I was just at a store (Princess Auto) that sells these 4 inch "spot light" or "Pencil beam" clear Len's (Un fluted glass Len's) 55 watt bulb "spot light" or "Pencil beam" "Driving lights for $4.99 each! (Made in India)
And the one Chap that I spoke to in the store was going to "Replace" two of his four Factory Renegade roof mounted lights in his factory light bar with two of these 5 dollar lights. He was about to through away the actual housing unit from the light kit it self and I asked him for them. (Not like I know what I'm going to do with them at the moment!)
I didn't watch closely (I should have) but he fitted these to the factory Renegade roof mounted light bar within minutes with minimum effort (He made some spacers by wrapping black hockey tape around the diameter of the $5.00 lamp.)
25 minutes later her was on his way!
Cool cheap fix that looked factory repaired!
Food for thought!

**I originally posted that the lights were 55 watt 4 inch lights. They are actually 100 watt 4.5 inch lights with a stainless steel housing.**

That's exactly what I am looking for Socks ... but the size of the Renegade Fog light as opposed to the roof lights. Probably closer to 6". Although truthfully I have not even been able to verify that I could use just a lens. I'm not sure if the lens is part of the actual bulb unit or just sits in front of the bulb. I have not been able to remove them yet as they seem to have been torqued by Superman! Grrrrrr.

Cheers,

P.S. Somebody was selling a light bar housing for 80 bucks on ebay last week! Score!

Have you seen these?

Or you could buy a Mopar for light kit direct from your local Chrysler/Jeep dealer! Or just a replacement part.

I don't think you have Lordco Auto parts in Toronto?
http://www.lordco.com/products/
Do you?
I know for a fact that they sell replacement Jeep Liberty Fog Lights Len's/Reflector's singularly if that is what you are after!
Providing that I am one the same page as you and these are for a KJ with Fog Lights mounted on the lower portion of the front bumper! (Of course I'm probably wrong, correct?)
If it is for a Liberty with the Fog lights mounted in the Grille then I totally missed the boat here!

(I hope I'm not out of line here referencing you to Midnight Liberty's Car Domain site or member profile without his permission!)

He mounted some after market Fog Lights on his Rig (Which look really great!). In front of the factory fog light openings in his grille.

Either that or it was wrecked and they got an OEM light cover.
