I feel bad for you guys in Jersey- I learned all about that lunacy when I lived in NYC. I filled up in Jersey once. Never did it again. That can't-pump-your-own-gas thing is one of the dumbest laws I've ever heard of.
Maybe it sounds weird, but I LIKE pumping my gas. I'm paying for everything, so I should get to fill MY tank with MY gas.
Same in oregon when I lived in washington. I thought it was weird not to pump my own gas. And it was 10 to 20 cents more expensive. I just filled up in vancouver when I went to portland.
Vancouver WA ry... not your Vancouver, that would make a horrible route from tacoma to portland.
We have the same local by-law here.
Here it's done to keep local people employed.
We never fill up in town though 'cause it's always ¢0.10 to ¢0.15 per liter more.
But the gas bar idiots still manage to spill ¢0.50-$1.00 worth of wretchedly expensive
fuel all over the side of our Rig when you hand them $40.00 or so dollars!:favorites68:
If thats why we have a that law in nj they totally failed. Very few "locals" work pumping gas. Mostly small no name stations and wawa. Wawa is a HUGE chain convieniance store for those who do not know. All other stations have indians on 2 year work visas, very nice people though. I suppose theyre locals since they live about 15 to a 3 bedroom within walking distance lol
I'm more of a QuickChek man myself.![]()
