So I thought my 2002 Liberty (3.7L) had its fuel pump go out last week. The jeep just quit while going down the road. I dropped in a new fuel pump and it never fired up. I get out my voltometer only to find there is no current across any of the 4 leads in the connector that feeds the fuel pump (located on top of the gas tank). When cranking, I get a ghost of a current for a second across the two center leads, but then nothing.
I am familiar with machine relays, but not completely comfortable with vehicle relays. What two pins do I need to jump in order to bypass the relay?
Any other ideas?
Where does the fuel pump (or whole fuse box) ground to?
