Fresh CV install

So just got done installing my new drive shaft cv joint.
Drove around a few blocks got up to about 30 everything seemed fine, crawled under to check it out. The cv seemed a bit hot got that short of a drive. Not too hot to touch but too hot to hold my hand there comfortably.

Is this normal? Will it cool with time as the grease works its way around the bearings better?

I dunno, did you grease it/have to grease it? I need to do this soon as well (CV halfshaft is shot)

I greased it, but never done before. Used the measured amount of grease that came with, squeezed it around the bearings on both sides just wonder if I should have tried to force the grease in deeper than I did
