After a long trip to Fort Leonard Wood, MI, then 200+ more miles to my friends parents house in Wappapello, I have an issue now; when I was heading back to PA?
When I got on the highway, after about 9 miles on back roads (dust and dirt); the Jeep started to shudder, and buck pretty bad, and lose power. I thought it was the Transmission. Then the ESP/BAS, SKID, and ABS lights all came on, and it all stopped, driving was fine. That was a relief, at 800 miles from home...
SO, there is the issue. It is NOT like the last time, where it was just a failure, and the lights came on after warm up, no, now it is actually applying the brakes while driving till I turn it off, or it errors out.
SO, when I stop somewhere, start it up, the ESP/BAS, ABS, and SKID lights are on immediately sometimes. When I get up to speed, and they were on, they turn off, then the braking starts all by itself. I shut the ESP off- drives as normal; then, within 5 miles, they all light up again. Pretty strange huh?
Bad sensor somewhere, last time it was a clock spring angle sensor, but was a TOTAL failure... It's only been 6-7months for it to fail again? Who knows, will have the codes checked. I will also clean the rotors and stuff, see what happens. Had more weight on one side of the jeep, maybe there was an issue with that, but, will see tomorrow on my way BACK to work, now that it is empty.
