I installed a new long block in my 2005 Liberty Sport. With a cold start up there seem to be extra vibrations from the engine - no misfires, maybe a slight roughness in sound (???) but a noticeable vibration that can be felt through the entire vehicle. After its been running a few minutes it fades away.

Typical 3.7 roughness from a new engine or something else?

I know if the balance shaft were out of time it wouldn't go away (or would it)?

I hired a new long block installed in my 02. From the moment I picked it up until now it's been as smooth as any V6 I've ever encountered.

Just a thought did you look at your motor mounts.

When I swapped in my new engine I replaced the motor mounts as well. Driver's side was shot so I just replaced both of them.

I thought the roughness I was feeling was the old engine going out. I think it was also the motor mounts contributing to the shakes.
