Engine Tick 3.7L Petrol 2005 Model

Guys

Have a tick at idle however when I give it revs it goes away and then takes about 15seconds before the tick starts again. I am on the side of Timing Chain tensioner not doing its job. Cannot hear the tick when in the cabin really only notice when in garage. Have done a oil change no difference

Is it there when cold or only when hot

Hot or cold still the same however when it hasnt been started for a while like 2 weeks the first start there is a loud rattle for about 5 seconds then fine.Engine has done 94000km reg oil changes every 500km or 6 months

5w30 oil like the manual says for an 05KJ?

A inexpensive mechanics stethoscope will help you pinpoint "tick" location.
Place it on valve covers, around timing cover/pump, and see if that helps.

Just something to try
I noticed when you fill the motor with about 250ml less than what the manual says to fill it with. I did this on my last oil change and noticed that idle is much quieter now. Not sure why this works but it does. The oil will still be in the hash marks on the dip stick so it's safe just a small amount less than what they say to put in.
