How did I miss this thread before?

Those prices and procedures are ridiculous. Sad part about it is... there's a hell of a lot of people out there that actually get this stuff done.

I don't necessarily use any one of these-- no more!
My oil change is due, I might get it there or maybe jiffy lube! $15 oil change, 10 mins. 10w30, right?

Be careful of Jiffy Lube. Aren't there and decent independant garages down there? There must be. The preferred is 5w30 per the owners manual - but 10w30 can be used per the manual. Check it out in your owners manual.

Or I'll just go to my gas station, last time he did well and I got to stay underneath my jeep while he was doing it! :)

That is much much better than Jiffy Lube. Do that. You can also check underneith for leaks and such while you're under there.

I didn't check, let me see if I can spot it.
Otherwise what kind of filter is a good one?

Wix, Purolator, or the Mopar one. In that order.

Edit: I think Wix makes Purolator. It's a good filter. If you have NAPA down there I think Wix makes theirs too.

I got a flyer in the mail today from the jeep dealer.

Summer Vehicle Maintenance Special. - oil and filter change, tire rotation, and 23 point check-up (?)- $24.95 - - Then in another place on the flyer it says 16 point check up for $24.95 ??

Free air conditioning check.

Brake inspection - inspect brake pads, rotors, etc - $19.95

Diff service - 4x4 - drain and refill front and rear diffs - $79.95

The diff service has me thinking. The front is easy, but the rear is a PIA...haha.... Now if they would let me watch.....hmmmmm I hate that rtv stuff.......I need a gasket. Then I could just get the atf-4 and do the t-case which is easy.

Oil change charge is not that bad..
ANything that they charge for "inspection" i would consider it worthless. they should inspect everything during the oil change and they should look for things to fix.. I am already there.

Diff Service for both of them? it doesn't sound that bad....
