dang my back door yo

so my tail gate won't open. I pull the handle and the glass with pop open but then when you try to open the tail gate and it just makes a clicking noise..Anybody else have this happen to them. Its an 04 KJ.

I had this happen to me once, turned out being corrosion on the battery post.

Solenoid/pin. Common problem.
Do a search under under rear gate/hatch and you will find it is possible to open it by removing a door in back and pulling release rod etc.

What ever the gizmo is that releases the rear solenoid pin.

Dunno, haven't had the issue
