creaking metal noise. HELP please!

hi, I'm looking for advice.
I'll try to describe it as best as I can and possibly post a video if I can.
my car has had the timing belt replaced, a new thermostat, I use original oil and coolant.
the car drives normally, it doesn't report anything, not even any warning lights or smoke from the exhaust.
but when starting from two thousand revolutions there is a metallic squeak and the same thing happens when the engine is revved up.
it doesn't make any noises when driving.
I have the impression that when the engine is warmed up the sound occurs more occasionally.

Could the metallic squeak be from one of the accessories on the front of the engine, like power steering, air conditioning, alternator, or belt tensioner? You could temporarily remove the serpentine belt and rev the engine and see if it still squeaks.

Is the sound RPM dependant? Ie, does it change with RPM of the motor?
Does it occur in park? How about neutral?
Is the A/C on when this occurs? What happens when you change the state (turn the A/C on/off)?

This is good advice. While you have the belt off, check all the pulleys (and the AC clutch) for any play or anything other than smooth revolution.
I'm betting you have a bad idler or accessory drive.

Is the engine moving on the mounts? It almost sounds like the fan is scraping the shroud.

The fan scraping or a clutch of a pulley is dry.

That is a failing bearing on one of your pulleys I believe. Get a stethoscope or use the old screwdriver to the ear method to locate it. (Just be careful not to put it on a moving part). It is intermittent because it is just beginning to fail. You will hear a scraping noise even if it is not squealing. They are not that expensive and you can change the belt while you are in there.
