What are some of the most common parts that are likely to break on a trail run?
Starting with like a tire.

I have skids and run Kevlar Belted Tires, so I doubt on a "trail" that anything should break.
After all I bought a "Jeep" not a Toyota.
The only thing I "Break" for is lunch!

Depends, if you were looking at serious stuff
CV's , Ball joints, Tie Rods ends, drive shafts, even the front diff

Light stuff, have the same stuff you'd take on a long road trip.

I forgot to mention....one of my tires in October did start leaking....but I can't blame it on wheeling, as I didn't notice it for a few days afterwards. I wish it would've been the tire would've had more damage...so I could get a new set... :D

On obstacles I have seen a few axles go out on everything from a 1ton front axle to a stock beater toyota trail rig.

I crossed a ditch pretty quickly and tore off the lower air dam crap. Sawzalled the rest off when I got home and a year later ditched the whole plastic bit for an ARB. Now when I cross a ditch I plow a pile of dirt into the bottom of my bumper.

I have heard the electric cooling fan can be an issue if you're running through much water... guys I was with once told me to turn off the A/C and turn up the heat for several deep (24" or so) water crossings to avoid the fan turning on while under water. He had had one get some dirty water/grit into the inner workings of the fan and it died.

Anyone have experience with this type of issue?

Seen a friends electric cooling fan crap out after she ditched her KJ and the fan filled with snow....even turning the fan by hand it didn't feel right afterwards...
But then again, it is just a flimsy electric motor....
