did a quick check early this AM when I changed the oil.

Boot of front and rear CV of front driveshaft are good.
There is a lot more rotational play compared to the rear driveshaft.

Is this normal or what should be the tolerance for this rotational play?

Have yet to see what happens when shifting through the auto gears.

Yes, that rotational play - or backlash - is normal on the front driveshaft. Basically there's a bit more 'slop' built into the backlash on the front diff compared to the rear - I surmise that's to allow for some "give" when there's a difference in traction between front and rear wheels. That's the only explanation I can come up with. Anyone have another idea?
