Greetings everyone. This evening on the way to a Banquet, I noticed a "Check Engine Light" on the Jaine's dashboard. Jaine has been regularly maintained and up kept her whole life. She has 109630 miles on the odometer and usually runs fine.

No serious issues on the way, but after sitting in a parking lot for 3 hours, we saw that it was still on. On a 10 minute drive home, we noticed that her idle fluctuates between 900-1700 RPM and revs on her own while sitting in Park or at a stop light. Jaine does not overheat, partly due to a new radiator installed in the fall. Still have ice cold AC through the vents. The waterpump was also replaced then too. All the fluid levels are fine; oil, coolant, water, etc.

Frankly, I don't know whats going on. Recently, the belt has been squeaking quite a bit in cool weather and we had an incident in the winter where the battery "died", but was really fully charged. She wouldn't start.

If anyone knows whats wrong, please let me know. Taking her to the doctor soon!

What code, or codes is your Jeep throwing? You can get these from the Jeep itself or go to Autozone, if you don't have a code reader.

You can get the codes as easy as pie.

Close the door, then turn the key on-off-on-off-on. If you do it with perfect timing (just say the words as you are cycling the key, like reading in a book), the Jeep will tell you what's wrong with it.

Post the code.

Update: Taking Jaine to the doctor tomorrow. Also getting a squeaky belt looked at. I'll let you know what happens.

In the meantime, I'm looking at putting on a Flowmaster Super 44 here pretty soon. I'm pretty excited. Just trying to find time to take it in to get it put on. Any thoughts on the muffler itself?
