Jeep in storage mode and interior lights turned off at Turn signal switch. Came home last night and interior lights were on. Opened doors and closed, then lights went off, and confirmed switch was off. Also previously had BCM re-programmed as tailgate lock was occasionally clicking, checking itself to make sure it was locked. Weird stuff. Still need to leave power on as I access the vehicle and start it weekly. Should I just pull fuse 37 for dash/interior lights and hope for the best or any ideas? I hate to think what a BCM is worth$$
KJ out of warranty 2nd owner 04- with 36k miles.
Before I left last night, last thing done, was I opened the tailgate and window, it should not come on when it is turned off at turn signal "GHOST" switch!! I think it came on by itself, sometime while I was gone. Battery voltage was still 12.61, so I charged it all night just to make sure.

Mine does this exact thing, been doing it for years. When I lived at home my pops would see the lights on when he went to work in the mornings and it has ran my battery down a few times. I do believe the lights coming on has something to do with the dimmer switch which you spoke of. I also use to keep my interior lights turned 'off' via the dimmer switch but Ive yet to see them come on nor has my battery ran down if I leave it so the interior lights come on(first notch or so).

The lights will go off after 8minutes or so since the kj has a safety feature which turns any lights off that were left on after a given amount of time. I guess mine keeps turning them back on..

Ive yet to get around to replacing the dimmer switch. Anyone got any sites that has some good prices?

My Jeep use to set for weeks at a time so I would pull that fuse you talk about. Only crappy thing is that fuse also does the BCM and it got old taking it out and putting it in.

Switch? More Like..

I doubt it is the switch. (who knows maybe it is?)More like crappy electronics on the BCM.
If the vehicle job is to ensure the lights turn off after a specified time then why is this thing turning them on? I have sat in the vehicle parked for a while and heard a click under the dash once that was kinda weird too.
I think I will try pull 37 fuse and see what happens and monitor the battery once a week.
I have a ghost KJ..maybe time to fill the battery with "Holy Water" LOL:idea.gif

Why would it be the switch? Because they are known to go bad in kj's and its what controls the lights turning on and off.

Why would the BCM turn the lights on when they are told to turn off after 8 mintues? Because the switch is bad, which turns the lights on and off.

Ive also had the dash lights fliker when not using the dimmer switch, which is controled by the dimmer switch.

There are a few reasons why it would be the dimmer switch. It would also be odd that Ive put the switch in a different position and its stopped doing it. Im no Electrical Engineer but sometimes it just slaps you in the face. :)

I must have a demonic KJ!
I open my rear glass via the "Key fob" or the tail gate handle and the rear "Dome Light" illuminates!
Then I shut the tail gate and then the upper glass and the rear "Dome Light" turns off!
Never ever does the rear "Dome light" illuminate on it's own!
